My last sofa was a mistake I lived with for four years.

Wrong depth. Wrong height. Looked great in the showroom. I moved it through two apartments and never replaced it. That is how most furniture decisions end. Not with a choice. With an acceptance.

I have spent years designing and managing environments where the quality of a space directly affects how people feel and function every day. That experience taught me one thing: furniture is not decoration. It is infrastructure. And most of it is built badly.

So I sat on everything I could find. More sofas than any reasonable person should admit to. I was not shopping. I was measuring.

I have always lived in compact spaces. I know the difficulty of a delivery driver telling you the piece you waited eight weeks for will not fit up the stairs. The modularity was not a design decision. It was a personal grievance.

The washable covers came from the same place. Life happens on your sofa. The answer cannot be a fabric you treat like a museum exhibit.

I built something I actually wanted to own.

It just took four years and one very bad sofa to get there.
